Freeport Hamburg

Last Sunday I went on a trip around the vast harbour area of hamburg with some friends. I didn't do a great number of sketches, in benefit of sitting down with watercolors and trying to apply color in a more detailed manner, really taking the time to evoke some serious color studies.

Unfortunately, the motivation lasted for just one piece.

The image on the right is a sketch I did afterwards and the color was added at home.
Yet the scan craps both of them… 

Thing is, I really feel like getting into doing more plein air paintings…

Morning Skies over Hamburg

Got up early, saw the beautiful morning view from my window and just had to put it down in watercolor. The colors were changing constantly, so what you see is a progression that took place approx. between 6:00 and 7:00 AM.
