The Green Lake, part 5: Creatures
Next post about the Green Lake with some old and early work, covering several visual possibilities for other beings within the story's world. I just fooled around with descriptions of the creatures in mind, because my recent focus lay on the characters you can see in the earlier posts.
The Green Lake, part 1: Old Turgel
The following works are part of a long term project based on a story written by a friend of mine. The story has fantastic descriptions of the characters and environments, which inspired me a lot, so I even chose that story, The Green Lake, as an outline for my Bachelor-thesis.
I focused on developing two characters from the story, of which I'm introducing the first one here, the Old Turgel.

This is the short version of the way from the first inspirations to the idea that I felt I wanted to explore further. I chose to work bigger and in charcoal to better catch the feeling of that character.
After the character had been defined I started to work out poses and expressions.
At the moment I'm planning test animations with the characters from the story, so stay tuned for these!
As well as for sketches of the other character, Ormisel, and Background concepts, of course!
Appl'o'calypse!
In the past month I've been working on an animated short movie with a group of people. The movie is an adaption of "SnowWhite" and deals with the aftermath of the events occurring in the original fairytale. It is an entry for a contest from the Goethe Institute. The movie is already online and you can watch it here:

The drawings you see below are character sketches I did for that movie. The Prince and the Apple-Boy were put into a final design by Sabine Koops, the dwarves were adapted for animation by Daniel Leyva.
I also worked on the Backgrounds for that movie, who will be up in future post.

Beware the Birds
This is a small spontaneous selection of drawings for a project involving bird characters. I did tons of sketches for that, maybe I'l upload more soon…
How cute…!
These creatures were part of a development project. Task was to design with one repeating element or idea
Miscellanious, yet project sketches ;)
They are coming!
I'll be posting works and sketches in a loose order and present them thematically compiled on charts. There is some stuff coming, so be prepared!
I hope you will enjoy the art!
So, first chart is about Costume and Character, most drawings were done for a project at University
Sketches!
So, here is my 2011 Sketchboard! All the Sketches were done in 2011 while I attended the Animation School Hamburg.
