Morning Skies over Hamburg

Got up early, saw the beautiful morning view from my window and just had to put it down in watercolor. The colors were changing constantly, so what you see is a progression that took place approx. between 6:00 and 7:00 AM.

Animation Backgrounds!

These are some of the backgrounds I designed and painted for the animated short film “Backwater“, a graduation movie I developed with 3 fellow students and was produced then by our whole Animation School Class.

The technique is pastels on paper, the single layers where then scanned into the computer and digitally mastered.

What you see here are solely the backgrounds before they went into compositing.

The style was inspired by the works of Lyonel Feininger and Ken Adam.

I‘m thinking about posting a kind of „making-of“ from the backgrounds some time soon…
